We recently redesigned our vegetable garden thanks to a grant we received through this web site. We also have native plant areas (prairie, woodland and soon we hope to have wetland plantings). All of our students k-8 are involved in gardening and stewardship of our land. We will use the pie pumpkins, potatoes and popcorn we grew at our upcoming Thanksgiving feast. And we grew so much lettuce last spring we were able to donate some to a local food bank.

Grades Involved:
We are interested in being E-Mail Pals and would like to exchange: Seeds, deer management strategies, best crops for our area for spring and fall harvesting.
How our project is helping kids grow: The delight our children experience while growing their garden is very obvious. They are proud of their accomplishments and they are learning useful skills. Math, science, art, and language skills are all incorporated in their gardening experiences. We are fortunate to have faculty and administrators who value outdoor experiences.
