We are a health and fitness program for elementary school children utilizing large scale organic gardening as our delivery system for lots of intensive exercise and as a source of pesticide- free dark green vegetables. We are an intensive program growing vegetables in the spring ,summer and fall. We donate 80% of our crop to senior citizens. We think of our garden as a vegetable bank account.Hoping that the seniors will freeze their harvest as a buffer against high utility bills in the winter months. We recycle common waste stream items and build them into valuable garden tools. Bicycles become high wheel plows . Clothes dryers become giant compost sifters.
