Subaru of America Foundation
The Subaru of America Foundation, Inc. provides support to non-profit organizations that enhance the academic learning experience for youth and engages them in the learning process.  The foundation awards grants twice annually, in the spring and the fall.  Since its inception in 1984, SOAF has donated nearly $6 million to local communities.  Visit www.subaru.com for more information about its dedication and drive to improving the communities where Subaru employees live and work.

Adopt a School Garden®

Attention educators in southern New Jersey! Are you planning to install a youth garden in spring of 2009? Through a grant to the National Gardening Association, Subaru of America Foundation is sponsoring the 2009 National Gardening Association's Adopt a School Garden (ASG) program  in 9 southern New Jersey schools.  In addition to receiving technical assistance, horticultural and garden education consultation from the ASG program, winners will also receive $1,000 in materials and funding to lay the foundation for their garden program.

Who is eligible to apply: Elementary, middle, and high schools serving low to middle income students located in the following southern New Jersey counties are eligible: Burlington, Camden, Cumberland, Gloucester, and Salem Counties, with preference given to Burlington and Camden Counties. Educators should be planning to use the garden to teach students life skills, reinforce academics, develop environmental stewardship, and encourage students to make positive choices for themselves and the planet. Established and start-up garden programs are encouraged to apply.

The garden program must be implemented by June 30, 2009.  Winners will need to complete a final report by July 15 summarizing program accomplishments and impacts.

What the award includes: In addition to receiving technical assistance and horticultural and garden education consultation from the ASG program, winners will also receive $1,000 in materials and funding to lay the foundation for their garden program.

Submission process: Applications are due by February 9, 2009.

Award Fulfillment: We will notify you about the status of your application by March 1, 2009.

No purchase necessary. Purchase of a product does not improve your chances of receiving an award.
