The Achelis Foundation concentrates its grant program in the greater New York City area. They support many programs including those that include youth, rehabilitation, science education, volunteerism, entrepreneurship, economic development, and environment (science education and land conservation). Special consideration is given to self-help, leadership development, parental involvement, economic empowerment, prevention, and early intervention.
One of the primary goals of the Agway Foundation is to support organizations whose activities promote agricultural leadership development or help foster a better understanding of cooperatives, agriculture and our food production system. They have made significant funding investment in a variety of programs and projects that serve the interests of farmers and rural communities in the Northeast.
Awards grants ranging from $20,000 to $60,000 to national non-profit agencies for youth education programs in math, science, the environment, and technology.
$50,000 in grants of up to $1,000 each are open to educators statewide who teach grades K-12 in public schools located in APS service territories. The grants are designed to encourage students and teachers to pursue ideas and projects that link energy and environmental education to core subjects such as math, science, social studies, health, and language arts.
