Larry Keyes – Director of Information Technology
Multi-talented Larry Keyes serves as both Information technology director and grants specialist for KidsGardening.org, An experienced database administrator and network manager, he has worked with a wide variety of programming languages and technologies for non-profit, government, education, and healthcare organizations. As a grant writer, he enjoys the thrill of the chase, as well as the opportunities for collaboration and teamwork that good grant writing demands. He has applied for and received grants on behalf of economic development and arts organizations from local, state and foundation funders, as well as major grants from the (U.S.) National Institutes of Health for healthcare research.
Before coming to the National Gardening Association and now KidsGardening, Larry says his relationship with plants was mediated mostly by power tools – his lawnmower and chainsaw. He now nurtures plants on his office windowsill and is gratified to work toward help new generations of young gardeners discover the joys and benefits of gardening.
